Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2010 Nissan Altima

Today on our 2010 Nissan Altima we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique fork- mounted bike carrier, part number TH513. With the Thule aero blade roof racks assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our carrier directly on top of our load bars. We'll bring the bracket at the front around our load bar, feed the bolt through the holes and tighten with an Allen key. We'll move to the rear of the carrier where we'll fit the clamp around our rear bar, feed the Allen bolts through the holes and tighten with an Allen key. Once we have both clamps secured to our vehicle, we're ready to start loading our bike. We'll need to make sure that the wheel strap the the rear is undone and the skewer at the front is open. We'll grab our bike, place it into the wheel tray and drop our front forks down on to our skewer. more

Today on our 2010 Nissan Altima we'll be testing the fork style roof mounted bike rack from Swagman, part number S64710. With a twoly aero-blade roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placed our bike carrier directly onto our load bars. Once we have it situated inline with our vehicle we'll go ahead and begin securing the front part of our carrier. We'll do this by taking the U bolts, fitting them underneath the load bar and up through our bracket. We'll then tighten it in place with the wing nuts. We'll do this for both sides of the front part of our bracket. more

Today, on our 2012 Nissan Xterra, we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel-Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02103. With the Yakima Round Bar Roof Rack System assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our FrontLoader directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, we'll want to be sure that our front clamps go around our front bar. Once we have that set, we can then use the handle at the front to secure our front clamp around the front bar. With that tight, we'll move to the rear and bring our rear clamp around our rear bar. We'll drop the T bolt through the appropriate slot and then use the hand knob to secure it. We'll go ahead and open up our wheel mount, and we'll undo the rear-tire strap. more

Today, on our 2012 Nissan Xterra, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Forklift roof mounted bike rack, part number Y02098. With the Yakima Round Bar roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Forklift directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll want to remove our skewer, slide away our slotted bracket so we gain access to our T bolt. We'll bring our clamp around our front bar, fit our T bolt through the appropriate slot, and tighten it down with a T handle. Once we have that in place, we can slide the slotted bracket up around the T handle and reinstall our skewer. At the rear, we'll bring the rear bracket around the rear bar, drop our T bolt through the slot, and tighten it down using the T handle. We'll go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap and make sure our skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack. more

Here at the front platform, well bring our bracket around our rear bar. We can then fit our T-bolt through the T-slot and use the wing nut on top of our platform to secure it around our bar. We can then repeat that process for the other side of the front platform. Here at the rear, well drop our bolts around our rear bar. more

Today on our 2013 Nissan Frontier we'll be test fitting the Thule big-mouth roof-mounted bike rack, part number TH599XTR. With the Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll then bring the front two brackets on the underside of the front bar and hook in the T-bolts into the designated slots. We'll then move to the rear, remove one wingnut to make the rear bracket go on top of the bar. We'll then move back up to the front making sure our T-bolts are still in position and turn the black wingnuts to secure the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. With everything all tightened down and secured we're ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the front and rear wheel strap and we'll undo the black lever which controls the jaws. We'll place our bike up onto the bike rack maneuvering the frame clamp up or on the sprocket and on the bottom portion of the frame. We'll then clamp down the black lever to secure the jaws to the bike frame. We'll then secure the front and rear tire with straps. And now that our bike is all loaded up that will complete today's test fit for the Thule big-mouth roof-mounted bike rack, part number TH599XTR, on our 2013 Nissan Frontier. . more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2013 Nissan Frontier

Today, on our 2013 Nissan Frontier, we'll be test-fitting the Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64720. With a Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test-fit by placing the bike rack up onto the bars. We'll then take the silver brackets to go on the underside of the front bar, and bring them up through the pre-drilled holes in the front of the bike rack. We'll then take the black wing nuts to thread onto the brackets to secure the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. We'll then move to the rear of the bike rack, where this time, we will slide the silver bracket down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack and bring the black plate on the underside of the rear bar, threading on the black wing nuts to secure the rear part of the bike rack to the rear bar. With everything all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the straps at the front and rear of the bike rack, and double check to make sure our jaws are loose. more

We'llremove the black plastic cover at the front, to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the front bar. If necessary, we can use the included Allen wrench to loosen up the straps,to be able to fit it around the bar.With the front straps in place, we can then move to the rear, remove one of the Allen bolts from the rear bracket, toslide the rear bracket around the underside of the rear bar. We'll then re-install the Allen bolts, and using the Allen wrench, tighten the rear bracket. We'll then move back up to the front and again usethe included Allen wrench to tighten the silver bolts to bring the rubber coated steel straps up around tightly against the front bar. more

We'll move to the front, where we will place the carrier on top of the front load bar, swinging the two brackets around the underside of the load bar. We'll then loosen up the T bolts to fit into the slots of the brackets. more

Starting at the head of the carrier we'll bring the silver brackets up on the underside of the front load bar and into the holes of the top part of the carrier.We'll then thread on our black wing nuts to secure the brackets up against the load bar. We'll then repeat these steps for the other side of the front part of the carrier. We'll then move to the rear where we'll this time we'll slide the bracket on top through the carrier down on top of the load bar. Well then use the black metal plate to go up onto the underside of the rear load bar and use the black wing nuts to thread onto the bracket to secure the rear part of the carrier to the rear load bar.Now with everything all tightened down and secured we're ready to load up our bike. more

With our head secured, we'll go ahead and move to the rear mounting location where we'll use the Allen bolt and the Allen wrench to secure it to our rear crossbar. Now with the bike rack secured to our Xterra, we're ready to load our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Nissan XTerra well be test fitting the fork-style roof-mounted bike rack from Swagman part #s64710. With our roof-rack system already installed onto our vehicle, well place our bike carrier directly onto our crossbars. To secure the front part of our carrier well feed the U-bolts underneath our crossbar and up through the holes in the platform. Well secure the front part of our carrier by installing wing nuts on each U-bolt and tightening them down. Well move to the rear. Well feed the U-bolt through the top of the carrier making sure that it goes around the crossbar. Well install the wing nuts and tighten them down securing the rear part of our bike carrier. Now we need to make sure that the skewer is open and that the rear wheel strap is undone. Well grab our bike; place it onto the carrier dropping the front forks down onto the skewer. more

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Nissan Xterra

Today on our 2013 Nissan Xterra we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number rky1011. Now to begin our test fit we'll place the bike rack on top of our crossbars. We'll make sure that the head of the bike rack is over the front crossbar where we'll bring the rubber-coated steel straps underneath the crossbar and secure it back to the head of the bike rack.With that done we'll take the large Allen wrench that comes with the TieRod Stretch and tighten down the bolt here in the center. This will bring the rubber-coated steel straps tight securing the head of the bike rack to the front crossbar. We'll move back to the rear crossbar where we'll make sure that the rear mounting point is slid through the rear crossbar and tighten it down using the smaller Allen wrench that also comes with the TieRod.Now that we have all our bolts tight our bike rack is secured and we're ready to load our bike. We'll make sure that the front fork skewer is undone as well as the rear wheel strap out of the way. more

Now we can use the hand knob at the very front of the carrier to tighten down our front clamp. Then we can move to the rear of the carrier where we can use the hand knob on the top of the carrier to secure our rear clamp. Now before we load our bike we need to make sure that our wheel strap in the rear is undone and that our wheel tray is open in the front. more

Once we have our front clamp secured, we can then go ahead and slide our skewer holder back into place and reinstall our skewer. Once we have that tight we can then go ahead and move to the rear. Well make sure that our clamp is around our rear crossbar then well go ahead and tighten it down using the included wing hand knob. more

To begin our test fit well go ahead and place the carrier on top of our crossbars so we want to make sure that that front clamp goes around the front crossbar. Once we have the clamps in place, we can then go ahead and use an Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts in the front. When we have that clamp secure, we can then go ahead and move to the rear and tighten that one down as well. Now we can go ahead and reinstall our skewer leaving it open for when we get ready to load our bike. more

We want to make sure that we bring these up from the bottom. Then we can use the wing nuts to tighten them down. Now we can move to the rear of the carrier, where we'll install the U bolt from the top, run in through the clamp on the bottom, and then tighten with the wing nuts. more

Today on our 2013 Nissan Murano well be test fitting the RockyMounts Tie Rod roof mounted bike carrier part #: RKY1014. To begin our test fit well place the carrier on top of our crossbars. We want to make sure that the rubber coated steel straps at the front go around our front crossbar and that the bracket in the rear goes around our rear crossbar. Once we have those in place we can then go ahead and tighten at the front by using an Allen key to tighten down the bolt. Then we can move to the rear to use an Allen key to tighten down our rear clamp. Once we have that tight we can then go ahead and move back to the front and reinstall our cover over our skewer. more

To begin our test fit well go ahead and place the carrier on top of our crossbars. Then we can go ahead and remove the plate thats covering the front part of our carrier. Well take the rubber coated steel straps, put them underneath the front crossbar and then lock them back into position. Then we can move to the rear where well take out the Allen bolt, swing our clamp around the rear crossbar and put it back into place. Then we can move back up to the front where well take an Allen key and tighten down those straps. more

To install our carrier, we'll begin by placing it on top of our crossbars. We'll open up the clamp at the head of the bike rack and fit it around our front crossbar and then we'll tighten it down with the T-bolt and wing nut. After its tightened down we can go ahead and slide the cover back into place and we can reinstall our skewer. At the back we'll need to slide the clamp over our rear crossbar and again we'll tighten it down with a T-bolt and wing nut. Now we're ready to load our bike. more

To begin our test fit, we'll sit the head of the bike carrier on top of our front crossbar. We'll fit the clamp around and tighten it down with the included Allen wrench. At the rear of the bike rack we'll position the clamp over the rear crossbar and again use the included Allen key to tighten it down. With our bike rack secured to the roof rack we can go ahead and replace our skewer. We'll make sure that the wheel strap is open and then we'll be ready to mount our bike. more

We'll pick the bike up, place the rear wheel into the wheel tray and drop the front fork down into our skewer. more

Now with our roof rack system already assembled and installed on the vehicle we'll sat the carrier onto the crossbars. It's important that the carrier is perpendicular to the crossbars and parallel to the vehicle to ensure that the brackets have a proper fit onto the crossbars. We'll bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar and hook them into position. We'll then move to the rear of the carrier. This is where we'll loosen up the bracket, swing it around the underside of the rear crossbar and use the included Allen key to tighten it down. more

Today, on our 2012 Nissan Versa we're going to be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader roof-mounted bike carrier, part number Y02103.To fit this bike carrier up on top of our vehicle, we're going to lay it on top of our cross bars. We'll fit the front clamp at the head of the bike rack around our front cross bar and we use the hand knob to tighten it down.We'll move to the rear cross bar and fit the clamp around our rear bar and use the T-bolt and wing nut to tighten down the rear clamp.One we have done that our bike rack is secured to our roof rack and we're ready to load up our bike.To load our bike, we're going to make sure that the wheel strap at the rear of the carrier is open. We're also going to lay open the front hoop of the bike carrier.We'll pick up our bike, place the rear wheel in the wheel tray, and place the front wheel in the wheel hoop. We'll bring the rear wheel hoop behind the tire and hold it snug against the backside of the tire.We'll use the red hand knob to tighten down the wheel hoops and secure the bike by the front wheel.With that done, we'll move to the back and use the wheel strap to secure the rear wheel.After both wheels are secured, our bike is loaded up and we're ready to hit the road.That does it for our test fit of the Yakima FrontLoader roof-mounted bike carrier, part number Y02103, on our 2012 Nissan Versa. more

Today, we have a 2012 Nissan Versa and we'll be test fitting the Yakima ForkLift roof-mounted bike carrier, part number Y02098.To fit our bike rack to the roof rack, we'll place it up on top of our cross bars.We'll fit the front clamp around the front cross bar and tighten it down with the wing nut.Once we have done that, we can slide the cap back into place and re-insert our skewer.At the back, we'll fit the clamp around the rear cross bar and again use the T-bolt and wing nut to tighten it all down.Once we have the bike rack secured to our roof rack we'll be ready to load up to our bike. We want to make sure that the wheel strap at the end of the bike track is open.We'll lift up our bike, place the wheel in the wheel tray and fit the front fork down into the skewer.We'll secure the bike by the skewer first, then we'll move back and secure the rear wheel with the wheel strap, and with that our bike is all loaded up and we're ready to get on our way.That does it for our test fit of the Yakima ForkLift roof-mounted bike carrier, part number Y02098, on our 2012 Nissan Versa. more

Alright, today on this 2012 Nissan Sentra we're going to do a test fit of RockyMounts TieRod Bicycle Rack, part number RKY1014. Ok, now our Sentra has already been equipped with a roof rack using the elliptical bars so all you do is place our bike rack on top of it. Let's start off by setting the front part of the bike rack on top of the front crossbar and make sure that the straps go underneath and around to the clips on the front of the bike rack. Then we'll go ahead and raise up the back half and align the clamp up with the back bar. With the bike rack loosely attached, we'll go ahead and move around to the spot we want and then we'll go ahead and tighten it down. We'll go ahead and tighten down the hardware for the back bar and then we'll go ahead and use a 6mm Allen key to tighten down the front clamp. more

All right today on this 2011 Nissan Altima, we are going to do a test fit of Yakima bike rack, part number y02103. Our Nissans already been outfitted with a Yakima roof rack system, so all we have to do is place our bike rack on top of that, very easy, all we are going to do is set the first clamp onto the front cross bar, then well slide a second clamp onto the second cross bar. We are going to put the bicycle rack in the spot that we want and then we will go ahead and tighten down the clamps. Okay with that our bike rack is already loaded up onto the roof rack, now lets go ahead and load the bike. The first thing we will do is push the wheel loop up and towards in front of the vehicle and well make sure to strap for the back wheel is out of the way. Okay, so load up the bike and lets go ahead and put the front wheel to the front into the front hoop. more

Alright, today on this 2011 Nissan versa, were going to do a quick test of rocky mounts bike carrier. Ok now our versa has already been equipped with a Thule roof rack system using the aero-blades. And our bike rack has already been put together according to instructions, so well go ahead and set it into place, ok so well take the front part of our rack, well slide it onto the first crossbar and run the straps underneath the bar until it catches in front. Now well go the back half of the rack and install a clamp for the second crossbar. All the hardware is attached and now go ahead and make sure the bike rack is centered on the vehicle front to rear and also position the bike rack where you want it left to right. Then we go ahead and tighten down all the hardware. more

Now we will start with the front of the bike rack, we will put the clamp on from the bottom of the cross rail, and then attach the hardware that is already in the bike rack. Okay we will just get it started and then we will take the clamp part and center it over the AeroBlade, and then we could just go ahead and snug it up. more
